Chooktred Treadle Automatic Chicken Feeder. The no-mess, no-pest treadle feeder.

Although chicken treadle feeders have been around for years, they have never been perfected. They are clumsy, expensive, and not waterproof. Some are made of wood and are not robust. This equipment has large moving parts that can injure your chickens. Chooktred is 100% Australian-made and owned.

Chooktred chicken feeders were developed in Australia to overcome all these problems, but most importantly, they are extremely simple and come fully assembled and ready to use.

The Chooktred designed, original anti-flick grill feature minimises the amount of wasted feed due to chickens flicking through the feed tray. For best results, we recommend using pellets or crumble.

Chooktred is designed for backyard chooks upwards of 1kg. This suits most backyard breeds and bantams.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. How many chooks can it feed?

A. Will feed 10 chooks for 10 days.

Q. How much feed does it hold?

A. Holds 14kg of pellet feed.

Q. How does it work?

A. Until a chicken steps onto the plate of the Chooktred, the feed remains covered and safe from pests.

Q. Will it harm my chooks in any way?

A. The operation of the feeder cannot harm your chooks due to the small amount of movement when operating

Q. What training is involved?

A. The Chooktred has a mechanism that allows the tray to remain open whilst the chooks become familiar with the treadle. This takes anywhere from 1 to 3 days. Once the chooks are feeding easily and comfortably from it, take it out of ‘training mode’ and prepare for your no-pest, no-mess, chook feeding future.

Q. Can the Chooktred be used with layer mash?

A. A dry layer mash is fine, but anything you combine with water to create a wet porridge, we do not suggest. We recommend pellets or crumble for the best results.
