Scoria
Scoria is a type of volcanic rock that forms when magma rich in gases cools and solidifies rapidly during a volcanic eruption. It is popular as a growing medium or decorative topper for bonsai, cacti, succulents, and other plants like orchids.
Mineraland Scoria is a well-known brand available in striking red and black colours. This brand comes in a 3–6 mm grade, making it especially ideal for bonsai, cacti, and succulents. Scoria can be mixed with other complementary mediums such as maifan stone, pumice, UXP, perlite, and Akadama to create a nutrient-rich matrix.
For those who prefer a pre-mixed medium of various components, consider Mineraland's Gritty Mix, which includes Scoria and other beneficial growing mediums.
