Why do we recommend Parrot B-Calm?
Parrot B-Calm contains ingredients L-tryptophan, thiamine and turmeric.
L-Tryptophan is a natural precursor for the synthesis of serotonin in the body. Serotonin is the key hormone that stabilises mood, feelings of well-being, and happiness.
Thiamine is an essential vitamin that is not synthesised in the body. Therefore, it must be absorbed from food sources. Thiamine plays a large part in the function of the nervous system, as well as in the metabolism of energy in the body.
Turmeric contains curcumin, which is a plant-derived product that has anti-inflammatory properties as well as being a stimulator for the release of dopamine and serotonin – two hormones that stabilise mood. Curcumin also enhances the synthesis of DHA and Glutathione, which play essential roles in the health of the brain.
Feeding Guide:
Parrot B-Calm is designed to be fed at a rate of 80% of your parrot's total diet, with the remaining 20% to be primarily fresh fruit and vegetables to provide variety and enrichment. Fresh water must always be available.

More information about B-Calm for Parrots:
There are all sorts of symptoms associated, things like pacing, feather chewing, and aggression towards their owners. Parrot B-Calm is the world’s first complete diet for birds that includes the ability to calm the bird down, with the use of a common amino acid.
By lifting the level in the diet, we can aid the prevention, the easing, and that gentle calming that you want to see in your birds.
How does Parrot B-Calm work?
Stress and anxiety are widespread in companion birds. B-Calm uses the amino acid I mentioned, called L-tryptophan. The L-tryptophan is a tiny molecule, and it crosses the blood-brain barrier and enters the brain. Within the brain…an enzymatic reaction happens to convert the L-tryptophan to serotonin. Now serotonin is the critical one because it is the key for the messages coming down the neurons to pass across the little gap between them. So a message can go from this neuron to that neuron and it’s serotonin in the middle that does that.
If the levels of serotonin are not adequate, then the message gets blocked. It can’t pass on. And that’s what causes the dysfunction of the neurons within the brain, leading to the aggression, the stress, the behaviours that we don’t want to see.
