Vetafarm Coccivet is a liquid coccidiosis treatment for pigeons and ornamental birds. Its two active ingredients, amprolium and ethopabate, are administered through drinking water. Available in 50 mL and 250 mL bottles.
Directions for Use
- Flocks: dilute 15 mL in 10 L of clean drinking water.
- Individual birds and small aviaries: add one drop (0.05 mL) to 30 mL of clean drinking water.
- Continue treatment for all birds for 5–7 consecutive days, with no alternative drinking water available.
- Treatment may be repeated as required under the label directions.
Clean aviaries and their surroundings thoroughly during treatment to help reduce reinfection.
Restriction: Do not use in food-producing animals.

Storage
Keep below 30°C and away from light. The manufacturer specifies a three-year shelf life from manufacture; check the bottle’s expiry date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Coccivet be used for laying hens?
No. The manufacturer excludes food-producing animals, including hens producing eggs for consumption.
Can I give Vetafarm Coccivet to canaries feeding babies?
When we previously contacted Vetafarm, they advised avoiding Coccivet, if possible, until the babies are at least 6 weeks old. As this advice is not included in the current manufacturer listing, confirm with Vetafarm or an avian veterinarian before treating canaries feeding young. If coccidiosis is suspected, seek veterinary advice promptly rather than delaying treatment.
