Osmocote Pro Low P 8-9M is a professional low-phosphorus controlled-release fertiliser specially formulated for phosphorus-sensitive plants and crops. With an NPK analysis of 16-1.3-13.3 plus 1.8% magnesium and trace elements, it provides balanced nutrition while keeping phosphorus levels relatively low.
This second-generation Osmocote Pro fertiliser uses ICL's resin coating technology to provide a regular and controlled nutrient release throughout the growing cycle. Under standard conditions, nutrients are released for approximately 8-9 months, making it ideal for professional nursery production, container plants, pot plants and bedding plants.
The formulation combines nitrogen, potassium, magnesium and essential trace elements to support healthy plant growth while meeting the particular nutritional requirements of plants that are sensitive to excessive phosphorus.

Application Rates
| Plant Type | Light Feeding | Normal Feeding | When 50% of Nutrition is supplied by Peters or Universol |
|---|---|---|---|
| Container Nursery Stock, Pot & Bedding Plants | 5 g/L | 6 g/L | 3 g/L |
Important: Osmocote application rates are based on pot volume. When fertiliser is incorporated throughout the growing media and plants are repotted into larger pots, the application rate should be increased to compensate for the dilution effect. Contact an ICL advisor for plant-specific recommendations where required.
How to Use Osmocote Pro Low P 8-9M
Using With Water-Soluble Fertilisers
Osmocote Pro Low P can be used in combination with water-soluble fertilisers. When additional water-soluble fertiliser is applied, reduce the Osmocote Pro application rate accordingly depending on the amount of supplementary fertiliser being used.
Fertiliser Longevity & Temperature
The nutrient release period of Osmocote Pro Low P 8-9M depends on the temperature of the growing media. The stated 8-9 month longevity is determined at an average temperature of approximately 21°C.
| Average Temperature | Approximate Longevity |
|---|---|
| 16°C | 10-11 months |
| 21°C | 8-9 months |
| 26°C | 6-7 months |
