What is ChickenKoop Refresh?

ChickenKoop™ Refresh is a ready-to-use, chemical-free coop bedding made from diatomaceous earth and attapulgite clay, sourced from Western Australia and packed in Geraldton

ChickenKoop™ Refresh – Natural DE & Clay Bedding for Your Backyard Flock

  • Moisture Control:
Attapulgite clay is highly absorbent, keeping bedding dry and preventing damp conditions that can harm hens.

  • Odour Control:
DE naturally adsorbs ammonia and other smells, keeping the coop smelling fresh.

  • Pest Deterrence:
DE acts as a natural pest deterrent against mites, lice, and other small insects; clay helps reduce pest-friendly conditions.

  • Long-Lasting Bedding:
Together, DE and clay extend bedding life, reducing how often it needs replacing.

  • Safe for Hens and Chicks:
Chemical-free, natural minerals that are safe for birds and humans.

  • Supports Hen Health:
Dry, odour-free, pest-free bedding reduces respiratory issues, foot problems, and stress in hens.

  • Egg Production & Quality:
Healthy, comfortable hens lay consistently and produce better-quality eggs.

  • Eco-Friendly:
Natural minerals, biodegradable, and sustainable for backyard and small-scale farms.

Additional Tips:

  • For dust baths, mix ChickenKoop™ Refresh with sand and wood ash to enhance its effectiveness.

  • Regularly inspect chickens for signs of parasites and consult a veterinarian if necessary

  • Maintain proper ventilation in the coop to reduce humidity and ammonia buildup.

What is Diatomaceous Earth?

  • Diatomaceous Earth (DE) or Diatomite is a sedimentary rock composed of diatoms, that formed in a freshwater lake over thousands of years.

  • Diatoms are opaline silica skeletal remains of microscopic photosynthetic algae.

  • Our Australian Diatomaceous Earth naturally deters insects such as flies and fleas.

What is Attapulgite Clay?

  • Attapulgite Clay (also known as Fullers Earth) is well known for its unique structure that consists of tiny air pockets that absorb and locks in liquid and odour compounds, such as ammonia.

HOW TO USE CHICKENKOOP™ REFRESH

IN BEDDING:

Add about 1/2 to 1 cup per square meter of coop floor

Especially helpful in humid or wet weather.

IN DUST BATHS:

Mix in with the chickens' dust bath area

Combine with sand for parasite control and feather cleaning.

IN FEED:

Some poultry owners add tiny amounts (e.g. 1-2%) to feed as a binder for toxins (check with a vet first)

MAINTENANCE TIPS:

Keep bedding dry. Stir or change it weekly

Ventilation is key: reduce moisture and ammonia buildup

Clean coop thoroughly every few weeks and reapply CHICKENKOOP™ REFRESH
