Ausperl horticultural vermiculite is ideal for adding to your soil or potting mix to help aerate it, increase its waterholding capacity and provide many other benefits. Vermiculite is often mixed with perlite or applied alone to soils and is especially popular for seed raising, propagating from cuttings and plant transplant mixes.
General Vermiculite Information:
Vermiculite has a wide range of uses across numerous industries. It’s commonly found in potting mixes, lightweight concrete, fire-resistant construction products, and intumescent coatings. It is also approved by the UN for packaging and safely transporting hazardous liquids. Additionally, vermiculite is used as a texturiser in paints and coatings, and more recently, in nanocomposites for films, coatings, and barrier technologies. When heated, vermiculite uniquely expands or exfoliates into worm-like shapes.
