How to Apply

For small plants, apply approximately 50–75 g per square metre, three to four times per year.

For large plants, apply approximately 100–150 g per square metre, three to four times per year.

Applications around August, October, December and March are recommended for best results.

Spread the fertiliser evenly over the soil surrounding the plant and water thoroughly immediately after application. Avoid applying fertiliser directly against plant roots, seeds or stems.

For the most even coverage when hand spreading, the fertiliser can be mixed with a small amount of sand or soil before application.

Application & Safety Information

Always water the fertiliser in thoroughly after application. Avoid applying during very hot conditions, particularly when maximum temperatures exceed 30°C, or when plants and soil are dry or under moisture stress. Applying excessive fertiliser can cause plant damage or fertiliser burn, so always follow the application rates shown on the product packaging.

Keep out of reach of children and pets. Avoid inhaling dust and avoid contact with eyes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Amgrow Citrus Fruit & Flower Fertiliser be used on citrus or fruit trees growing in pots?

Yes. It can be used for potted plants, but it should be applied more sparingly than it would be in the ground. Plants in containers can be more susceptible to fertiliser burn, so smaller, more regular applications are generally safer. Always follow the directions on the packaging and water thoroughly after application.

How should I use this fertiliser in sandy soil?

Sandy soils lose nutrients more readily through leaching. For sandy soil, use lower application rates — approximately half the normal amount — but apply the fertiliser more frequently. This helps provide a steadier supply of nutrients while reducing nutrient loss.
