Where to Use Sugar Cane Mulch
Vegetable Gardens and Raised Beds
Use around vegetables, including pumpkins, and over the surface of filled raised garden beds to reduce moisture loss and help limit weed germination.
Garden Beds and Potted Plants
Refresh existing garden beds or mulch around potted plants for a tidy surface that gradually contributes organic matter to the soil. Keep mulch at least 10 cm away from all plant stems.

How to Apply
- Remove all existing weeds from the area.
- For best results, apply a slow-release fertiliser, such as Terra Firma Organic Life, before mulching.
- The mulch is packaged dry. Avoid breathing dust and wear suitable protective equipment when handling.
- Thoroughly loosen and break up the compressed mulch to prevent matting and allow the soil to breathe.
- Spread evenly at 20 mm deep for re-mulching or 50 mm deep for a new layer.
- Leave a gap of at least 10 cm between the mulch and all plant stems.
- Water in well after spreading to improve water retention and wind resistance.
Handling and Storage
This organic garden product contains naturally occurring microorganisms. Avoid contact with eyes and skin, and avoid breathing dust or liquid mists. Wear gloves, enclosed footwear and suitable protective clothing. Use dust-resistant eye protection and a particulate respirator when exposed to dust or mist. Wash hands thoroughly after handling and before eating, drinking or smoking. Store in a cool location and keep out of reach of children.
