The ArtiTec 4T Manual Grafting Tool is made in Italy and uses interchangeable blades to prepare cuts for four grafting methods. Suitable for fruit trees, grapevines, kiwifruit and compatible ornamental plants, it offers a practical way to prepare matching rootstock and scion cuts.

Features

  • Four grafting methods: notch, English double-notch, omega and bud grafting.
  • Cuts rootstock up to 14 mm in diameter, as specified in the Ryset catalogue.
  • Interchangeable blades let you change the cutting profile for the grafting method required.
  • Steel core and glass-filled nylon body for strength and durability.
  • Replaceable blades allow worn cutting components to be changed.
  • Made in Italy.

Grafting methods

  • Notch grafting: produces matching interlocking cuts in the rootstock and scion.
  • English double-notch grafting: provides an alternative interlocking cutting profile.
  • Omega grafting: creates an omega-shaped joint between the rootstock and scion.
  • Bud grafting: prepares cuts for grafting a bud onto suitable rootstock.

Using the tool

Select the appropriate blade and follow the packaging instructions for the chosen grafting method. The blades are changed by undoing the two screws on the tool head and fitting the required blade.

For matching rootstock and scion grafts, prepare the corresponding cuts, join the cut surfaces carefully and secure the graft with suitable grafting tape. Successful grafting also depends on plant compatibility, suitable timing and careful alignment of the cambium layers beneath the bark.
