Vetafarm Nutricore Hand Rearing Formula | For Most Parrots

Nutricore is Vetafarm’s brand new hand-rearing formula that is recommended for most parrots (sensitive species such as African Grey Parrots, Black Cockatoos and Hyacinth Macaws should be raised on Vetafarm Neocare).

Avian veterinarians formulated Nutricore to provide exceptional nutritional balance, supporting optimal growth, feather development and immune function for baby birds. It is an ideal formula from hatching to weaning.
This product contains 13 vitamins and minerals, 9 strains of good bacteria and 7 digestive enzymes. 

Nutricore has a similar nutritional foundation as Neocare; however, it is a “blend” rather than an extruded formula. While blends are not as easily digested as extruded formulas, they are much faster and easier to mix, and Nutricore still contains all of the nutrients required for baby birds to thrive. This provides two options for our clients, both of which include the same Vetafarm Australian ingredients and quality measures, but with different processing techniques, leading to differences in how the products mix and perform.

Vetafarm continues to recommend Neocare as our flagship formula for hand rearing, particularly for neonatal babies and difficult-to-raise species. Nutricore is a lower-cost formula that mixes faster and delivers all the nutrition required, but will not be completely comparable in growth rates for sensitive species or very early-stage babies (under 7 days).

Recommended Use: The amount of Nutricore required by your birds and the frequency with which feeds should take place are dependent on the age (crop capacity) and species of bird being raised. Please research your species thoroughly before attempting to hand raise.
