Installation and use
- Fit the supplied support feet to maintain an air gap beneath the enclosure.
- Secure the mat beneath the glass base using its transparent edges, following the supplied instructions.
- Leave a cooler area available. Manufacturer guidance limits coverage to approximately one-quarter to one-half of the enclosure floor.
- Do not position the mat directly beneath another heat source.
- Keep the mat dry. Do not submerge it or install it inside the enclosure.
- Inspect operation daily during the first 3–5 days after installation.
Frequently asked questions
Does the heat mat need a thermostat?
We recommend a compatible reptile thermostat and regular temperature checks. The built-in cut-off provides additional protection, but it does not let you select the temperature your reptile needs. Its approximately 50°C cut-off is not a recommended enclosure temperature.
Can it be used with a wooden or plastic enclosure?
No. This range is designed for use on the outside of glass enclosures only.
Can it run overnight?
The manufacturer designs these mats for continuous operation. Whether overnight heating is needed depends on the species and measured enclosure temperatures.
