Contendor Insecticide Imidacloprid is a ready-to-use trigger spray for the control of a range of sucking insect pests in the home garden.
Contendor provides systemic action, being absorbed through the foliage and moving throughout the plant to control insect pests. It can be used on ornamentals, roses and specified fruit and vegetable crops.
It is supplied as a low-toxicity, water-based formulation and requires no mixing before application.

How to Use Contendor Insecticide
The product is ready to use. Shake well before use.
- Spray foliage thoroughly when insects are first seen or if insects reappear.
- Spray underneath leaves to reach pests that may be hiding out of sight.
- Do not spray if it is raining or about to rain.
- Do not spray when the soil is dry and plants are suffering from moisture stress.
- For best results, spray in the morning when there is little or no wind and little direct heat from the sun.
- Avoid spraying blooms or flowers in full sun, as slight petal marking may occur.
Specific Pest Application Directions
- Hibiscus Flower Beetle: Spray buds and flowers as needed.
- Longtailed Mealy Bugs: Apply 3 sprays, 2 weeks apart.
- Psyllids: Spray at the first sign and then again one week later.
- Soft Scales: Spray in late spring or when small scales are first seen. Apply 3 sprays, 2 weeks apart.
