Avione Plastic Bird Leg Rings are split rings used to help identify birds in cages and aviaries. Also known as bird leg bands, they provide a visual reference that can be matched to your own breeding and management records.

Choose from four size options labelled for finches, canaries, budgies and lovebirds. The split design allows the ring to open for fitting around the leg.

Available ring sizes

Ring option Size
Finch 2.8 mm
Canary 3.0 mm
Budgie 4.1 mm
Lovebird 4.5 mm

Choosing and using bird leg rings

Check the required ring size for your bird's particular species or breed before purchasing. The bird names above describe the product options and do not guarantee a suitable fit for every bird in that group.

Follow the packaging instructions for fitting. If you are unsure about sizing or handling your bird, ask an experienced bird keeper or avian veterinarian for assistance. Check fitted rings regularly for tightness, damage or irritation.

Frequently asked questions

Are bird leg rings the same as bird leg bands?

Yes. Both terms describe rings worn around a bird's leg for identification. This product is a plastic split-ring style.

What can I use these rings to identify?

You can use rings as visual markers linked to your own records, such as breeding groups or hatch-year groups. A colour only has the meaning you assign to it; it does not independently confirm a bird's age or sex.

Will the Finch size fit every finch?

No. Finches vary in size, and different species can require different ring sizes. Check the requirements for your particular bird rather than choosing solely by the general bird name.
