Edible Kale:

 

Cool season crop. Baby green leaves may be harvested 7 weeks after planting. Has a decorative use in the garden.

Sow: Raise in trays of Yates Seed Raising Mix or sow direct where they are to grow. Cover with mix, firm down and keep moist. Transplant after 4-6cm tall.

Care: Grow in sun or semi-shade. Enrich soil with organic fertiliser (such as Yates Blood & Bone or Dynamic Lifter) before planting. Feed plants regularly with Yates Thrive Soluble Plant Food. Continuous harvest promotes new growth. Protect plants from snails and slugs with Yates Blitzem. Control leaf-eating grubs with a Yates caterpillar killer (Success or Dipel) or Yates Vegetable Dust (Derris).

Hint: Leaves will be darker when temperatures are cooler.
