Elm Leaf Beetle Control on Elm Trees
Surefire Spectrum 200SC is registered for the control of Elm Leaf Beetle on elm trees. It is applied as a systemic soil treatment, allowing imidacloprid to be absorbed through the tree's root system.
Application Rate for Elm Leaf Beetle
Apply 7 mL of Surefire Spectrum 200SC per 25 mm of tree trunk diameter, measured at breast height.
For example, an elm tree with a trunk diameter of 250 mm requires 70 mL of Surefire Spectrum 200SC.
How to Apply to Elm Trees
Mix the required dose in sufficient water to adequately treat each tree.
- Use at least 50 L of mixture per tree for trees up to approximately 400–500 mm trunk diameter.
- Use 100 L of mixture per tree for larger trees.
- Inject the mixture into the soil to a depth of 20–30 cm.
- Use a minimum of four injection sites per tree.
- Space injection points approximately 0.75–1.5 m apart in an evenly spaced pattern extending to just beyond the drip line.
- Ensure the root zone is adequately moist and there is active root growth before treatment.
- Keep the treated area moist for 7–10 days after application.
- Do not treat if the soil is waterlogged.
Best Time to Treat Elm Leaf Beetle
Treat at least 6–10 weeks before the expected pest attack, generally in late winter or early spring when the tree's roots are actively growing.
Because the product needs time to be absorbed through the root system and distributed through the tree, treatment is best planned before significant Elm Leaf Beetle activity occurs.
Agricultural & Ornamental Uses

Termite Management

The product may be used to establish a continuous chemical-treated zone between a structure and termite colonies in the soil. The treated zone is designed to impede termite activity and reduce concealed termite entry.
According to the registered directions, correctly administered treatments have demonstrated a service period of at least two years against subterranean termites other than Mastotermes, and at least one year against Mastotermes.
Reinspection within three months of treatment is recommended, followed by ongoing inspections at least annually as part of a termite management program.
Termite treatments require careful assessment of the building, soil and construction conditions and should be carried out in accordance with the registered label and applicable Australian Standards.
Mixing & Application
Before pouring, shake the container vigorously. Add the required quantity of Surefire Spectrum 200SC to water while stirring or while the spray tank agitator is operating.
