Ryset Fruit Fly Trap + (Wild May Attractant 1L) (For Trapping and Monitoring Male Queensland fruit fly)

This item includes:

1 x Ryset Fruit Fly Trap.

1 x Wild May Fruit Fly Trap Attractant 1 Litre.

About Ryset Fruit Fly Trap

Hanging bottle trap designed to trap Bacotera Species Fruit Fly, including Queensland Fruit Fly.

Fill to a depth of 30mm with suitable liquid bait such as Wild May Fruit Fly Attractant (see below). Reseal and hang in the middle of your tree.

Flies will be attracted inside the trap by the scent of the bait, but will not be able to escape and will drown in the liquid. Top up the bait as required. The trap is designed in a way to make it difficult for flies to get out once they enter.

About Wild May Attractant 1L

Active Constituent: Maximum 0.5g/L 4-(p-hydroxyphenyl)-2-butanone and minimum 0.25g/L 4-(p-hydroxyphenyl)-2-butanone acetate.

Registered NRA Lure/Attractant for Male Queensland Fruit Flies Bacterocera tryoni.

Directions:

  • Pour attractant into base of trap supplied to a minimum depth of 20mm
  • Place trap upwind in shaded branch on the eastern side of the tree approximately 1.2 metres off the ground.
  • Place four traps per hectare equally spaced around areas where fruit flies are to be monitored/controlled.
  • Recharge traps when liquid attractant evaporates to a depth of 15mm.
  • When recharging the traps it is advisable to remove dead flies from the trap liquid by an effective means such as pouring the liquid through a sieve or using a small spoon.
  • See product label for the complete list of instructions.

General Instructions:

The Wild May Attractant may be used as a monitoring tool in conjunction with routine spray programmes. It may also be used to detect the onset of the fruit fly season and to reduce the local fruit fly pressure. The product may also be integrated into fruit fly control programmes on properties committed to pesticide-free farming techniques. This product will attract and kill male flies when used as directed in a "wet" trap but is not designed to be effective when applied to a cotton wick as no insecticide is present. (Flies will be attracted but not killed and are likely to escape from the trap).
