Before purchasing Richgro Lawn Beetle and Grub Killa it is a good idea to check your lawn to make sure that you have lawn beetles or grubs.

Brown patches in lawn can be caused by other problems such as fungal diseases, water repellent soil (dry patch) or even over application of fertiliser (burning of the lawn)

If you are not sure if you have lawn beetles or grubs the best way to find out is to pick a part of the lawn that has a brown patch, mix up some soapy water in a bucket and apply it to the edges of the brown patch, if you have beetles or grubs, they will surface after about ten minutes and will need to be treated.

NOTE: Always apply to a freshly mown lawn, and to ensure that the application of Lawn Beetle and Grub Killa penetrates well into the lawn soil, apply a soil wetter such as Ezi Wet prior to application of Lawn Beetle and Grub Killa.

How does it work?
It’s a contact stomach poison.

What is the active in the Killa range?
Bifenthrin.

Does Bifenthrin contaminate ground water through leaching?
No.

Is Bifenthrin a residual chemical?
Yes, It is considered residual. It can be effective over an extended period of time after application. Depending upon environmental conditions, this could be weeks or even months.

Is Bifentrhin absorbed by plant foliage?
No.

Can Bifenthrin be used around pets?
It is recommended to use with caution around pets. Do not allow pets in areas where product could be consumed.

Why is sand used as the carrier?
It is more effective as the Bifenthrin is dispersed more efficiently.

Does it have an odour?
Yes. But, it is not unpleasant.

How long is it active for?
Bifenthrin does not move in soils with large amounts of organic matter, clay and silt. It also has a low mobility in sandy soils that are low in organic matter. Bifenthrin is relatively insoluble in water, so there are no concerns about groundwater contamination through leaching. It’s half-life in soil, the amount of time it takes to degrade to half of its original concentration, is 7 days to 8 months depending on the soil type and the amount of air in the soil.

How long after use can I mow?
We recommend 7 days.

Can I use on a new lawn?
While there is no set length of time to wait, it is easier to let new grass become established first, before using.

How long between applications?
Reapply as necessary.

Can I use in my edible garden?
