Oaten Chaff is made up of chopped up Oaten Hay. Chaff pieces are usually about 2cm long and are popular as a feed for rabbits, guinea pigs, horses and cattle.

Q. How does this Oaten Chaff compare to regular oaten hay as far as being palatable to rabbits?

A. After opening a Chaff bag, it seemed to me to be quite yellow and golden brown with no green parts at all (see new photo added above). it also did not have the typical oaten hay smell but a very faint timber-like smell. If your rabbit prefers greener hay then they probably won't like this oaten chaff, however there may be some rabbits that do still like it despite its lack of green colour.
