Questions & Answers:
Q. Can this bottle be used for the wet food of nectar eating birds like rainbow lorikeets?
A. I have read on internet that using rabbit bottles as a lorikeet food dispensor can be done, but this might only apply to a more liquid type of food then the typical wet food mixture, but im not really sure. You might want to consider the Vetafarm Blossom Nector which is fully liquid for this purpose or a lorikeet food that is more liquid then most, but read the disclaimer first below before considering this. I also spoke a rep from our supplier of this item and he wasnt sure if lorikeet wet food would work and for safty reasons he did not recommend it. It has also been suggested to me that these (click link) Bird Drinker Bottles might be a better alternative, but i havent tested them.
Disclaimer - Rabbit bottles and bird drinkers like this item are only designed to dispense water and we do not generally recommend that they be used for lorikeet food as they may seize up and deprive the bird of food. However if you decide to experiment with lorikeet food or nectar be sure include an alternative food source in case the bottle fails. Use this item with lorikeet wet food at your own risk.
