Chicken Brooder Kits: Complete kits include a feed dish, waterer, and more.

Ideal for keeping young chickens, ducks and other poultry warm until they can generate their body heat. The warm environment of a brooder can also be used to help sick birds and animals recover from illness or to assist in hand-raising baby birds. Seek expert advice before doing so.

Size Guide:

Small Kit: 48cm L x 30cm W x 32.5cm H.  (Suits up to 4 baby chickens ideally, but can fit up to 8 with caveats. See below)

Medium Kit: 58.2cm L x 39.6cm W x 42.1cm H.  (Suits up to 6 baby chickens. Ideally, but can fit up to 12 with caveats. See below)

Large Kit: 78.2cm L x 39.5cm W x 42cm H.  (Suits up to 10 baby chickens. Ideally, but can fit up to 20 with caveats, see below)

NOTE: It's suggested to place four baby chickens in the small brooder, six in the medium, and ten in the large to maintain optimum comfort and conditions for baby chickens during the first six weeks after hatching. However, if you put more than the suggested amounts, it can become quite crowded as the chickens get older and larger (3 to 6 weeks). When at maximum levels, the brooders will need to be cleaned regularly, as crowding will lead to considerable messiness.

Each Chicken Brooder Kit Includes:

1 x  White enclosure with clear front and lid.

1 x  Light heat lamp (with dimmer)

1 x  Ceramic heat lamp 50W (not included in the small kit)

1 x  Power cord (medium & large sizes have two)

1 x  Thermometer.

1  x  Ball waterer.

1  x  Feeder dish.

3  x  Pet sheets (floor liners) (see below to buy extra sheets)

Disclaimer: Kits come flat-packed and will require assembly. The medium and large brooders include a 50-watt ceramic heat lamp and can accommodate lamps up to 75 Watts only. Do not use a brooder with a ceramic lamp that uses more than 75 watts.

NOTE: Some of the accessories mentioned above are not shown in the photos.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. How do you provide heat with the small chicken brooder kit when the light is off at night?

A. The small kit should be used with the light running continuously, night and day. This light provides both light and heat. The young chickens will still sleep fine even with the light on at night.

Q. Can the heat be adjusted for the small chicken brooder?

A. Yes, it can be adjusted via the provided dimmer.

Q. What is the brooder made of? Is it waterproof for baby ducks?

A. These brooders are made from a type of plastic and are waterproof and suitable for ducklings.

Q. Does this brooder come with an Australian three-pin power plug?

A. The current model comes with Australian Plugs. Previous models came with Chinese plugs requiring an adaptor to be used with an Australian power outlet

Q. Can I use E27 light screw in globes with these brooders?

A. Yes, you can.
