Clemson Spineless Okra:
Slender green pods, which are used as a green vegetable or for flavouring and thickening soups and stews, follow the attractive yellow blooms that form on upright bushes.
Position: Full sun.
Sow: Sow direct where they are to grow in warm conditions or raise in trays of Yates Seed Raising Mix. Firm down and keep moist through germination period. Thin out or transplant when large enough to handle.
Care: Choose a well drained sunny position. Prepare soil by adding Yates Blood & Bone. When first flowers appear begin applying Thrive Flower & Fruit regularly. Keep well watered. Harvest pods regularly. Protect from snails and slugs with Yates Blitzem Snail & Slug pellets.
Hint: Pods form a few days after flowers open. Pick them when young before they lose their tenderness.
