Eco Oil is the new-generation certified organic garden oil. It is a healthier and safer way to control pests like citrus leaf miner, scale, and various sap-sucking insects. It contains a special blend of botanical oils that won't clog the plant's pores, unlike traditional petroleum-based pest oils. It is also effective in smaller doses than traditional pest oil. Working at a rate of only 5 or 10 mL per litre of water. Traditional pest oil requires 10 to 25 mL to be effective.

Eco-oil is a registered organic miticide and insecticide. It controls a range of pest insects, including scale, aphids, two-spotted mite, whitefly, and citrus leafminer. Safe for use on veggies, as well as ornamentals, with no withholding period. Spray and eat on the same day! Also safe for beneficial insects like bees, ladybeetles and earthworms.

Eco-Oil is now HIPPO Enhanced!

HIPPO Enhanced eco-oil is a revolutionary approach to pest control and is the result of a 3-year research project with Charles Sturt University.

The project investigated the natural defence mechanisms of plants, in particular, how plants produce volatile organic compounds when attacked by pests.  These compounds act as SOS messages to beneficial insects, letting them know that tasty snacks are on nearby plants! A whole range of beneficial insects are attracted, including ladybeetles, lacewings, hoverflies and parasitoids.

The HIPPO Enhanced eco-oil formulation replicates this defence mechanism by including these organic compounds in the spray. The research clearly showed that the HIPPO Enhanced eco-oil will attract beneficial insects into the garden.  Pretty amazing, hey?

So use HIPPO Enhanced eco-oil to kill those troublesome pests, and at the same time attract beneficial insects to help balance your garden ecosystem.

Features:

  • 100% plant oils - contains no petroleum derivatives like other oil sprays.
  • Kills a broad range of common pest insects but remains safe for beneficial insects like bees, ladybirds and lacewings.

Spray Additive Use

Eco-oil can also be used to improve the wetting and sticking of insecticides, fungicides and foliar fertilisers.

Use Rate Directions
Spray additive for insecticides, fungicides and foliar fertilisers 5 mL per 2 litres of spray mix This rate is provided as a guide only. Always follow the directions on the pesticide label where the addition of a botanical oil concentrate is recommended.

How to Prepare:

Eco-oil is a botanical oil-based miticide/insecticide that controls pests by contact. Complete coverage of plants is therefore important.

For best results, spray with eco-oil at the first sign of pest infestation. Repeat applications may be necessary.

Some plant species, such as maidenhair ferns, are more sensitive than others. It is recommended that you conduct a pre-test on a small area of foliage before using the product more extensively.

Do not exceed the recommended application rates.

How to Mix

  1. Half-fill the spray container with clean water.

  2. Add the required amount of eco-oil and shake.

  3. Top up the container with water and shake again.

  4. Frequently agitate or shake the spray solution during application.

Important Application Information

  • DO NOT spray eco-oil when temperatures exceed 35°C.

  • DO NOT spray directly onto sensitive flower heads. Apply to foliage only to help prevent oil spotting.

  • DO NOT apply to plants suffering from heat or moisture stress.

  • Complete spray coverage is important because eco-oil controls pests by contact.

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose rates.
